I’m Samuel Costa, a filmmaker and drone operator based in Ortisei, in the heart of the Dolomites.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a camera in my hand. I bought one of the first GoPros to arrive in Italy, over fifteen years ago, and one of the first drones soon after. I filmed everything: training, travels, friends, mountains, the small moments and the little hidden details. Movies and cinematography were always my greatest passion.
For many years, my life belonged to sport. I competed in Nordic combined at the Olympic level, and every day was training, travel and competition. The camera always came with me, but there was never time to make it more than a hobby. Sport taught me discipline, patience and a deep understanding of what it takes to be the best.
Now I’ve given myself to the thing I’ve always loved. Through Haven Cinematics, I create films for hotels, tourism brands, athletes, artists and events, from the ground and from the sky. I can shoot it, fly it, edit it, even generate it from nothing.
But what I care most about is the story.
A beautiful image is easy to forget. A story that moves you stays. Every film I make starts with one question: how do we make people feel something? For me, that is the whole point of filmmaking, and the reason I picked up a camera in the first place.
